Troy has always been an incredibly hard worker, pushing his body and mind to their limits, and has recently gone back to school for more Psychology, so this kind of deep thinking about why we play what we play is something that he is clearly passionate about.

[Bonus] One Last Quest - A Free One-Page RPG Preview!

Surprise! With a new year, a new podcast feed, and a new series starting up, we figured why not keep with the new things happening and drop a preview of Rene's new game One Last Quest, a one page RPG that allows you to bring back some of your favorite PCs of campaigns past and play them in their elderly retired years. Hey all, the holidays are a crazy time and I (Rene) have been diligently working on editing lots of new stuff for you all, both on this main feed and my brand new DMs off-shoot podcast called Rene Plays Games!
 
We'll still be releasing a podcast every Friday on this feed, but if you can't get enough of our nerdy RPG content, give my new feed a follow, like, rating, etc., and you'll have more Playing With Myself solo RPG actual play series, short campaigns with friends new and old, a new take on the old Modified Rolls style (now called Perspective Checks), and more!

Welcome to another annual DMs After Dark Holiday One-Shot, always good for some seasonal shenanigans! This year we're playing Thursday by Eli Seitz, a Russian Doll inspired time loop game in the Belonging Outside Belonging family of RPGs. Despite this very clear source material, we decided to use it to play a Hallmark Holiday Time Loop one-shot, where the PCs are members of a rural town caught in a repeating day leading up to Christmas, where only true love will break the loop (or something appropriately cheesy like that). If there's one thing you take from this episode, it's to find your bean tree.
